Project overview

AAS
The FP 7 Project AAS - Integrated Airport Apron Safety Fleet Management, which is coordinated by TSB-FAV aims at an increase of efficiency and safety in the apron area of airports by developing a reasonable and safety rising real-time supervision system, which controls all vehicle movements.

CETRRA
Contributing to the European Research Area in surface transport to strengthen the competitiveness of the European surface transport sector. This will be achieved by using the excellent EURNEX competence to provide research excellence capabilities to European Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SMEs). Furthermore the cooperation with research excellencies from non EU countries will stimulate research that is of mutual interest and strengthen the European as well as non European research excellencies.

COOPERS
COOPERS Vision provides vehicles and drivers with real time individual/local situation based, safety related status and infrastructure status information distributed via dedicated Infrastructure to Vehicle Communication (I2V). I2V in this respect will significantly improve traffic control and safety via effective and reliable transmission of data fully adapted to the local situation of the vehicle (ensemble of the vehicles). The real time communication link between infrastructure and vehicle can also be used vice versa for V2I communication utilising vehicles as floating sensors to verify infrastructure sensor data as source for traffic control measures.

easy.going
The project easy.going targets on the transfer of barrier free know how between universities/research institutes and small and medium sized enterprises (SME). For that reason the project will develop a model on how to improve the mutual flow between research results and innovative applications for accessibility. The model will be realized in the region Berlin-Brandenburg.

ECORailS
The project “Energy efficiency in the commissioning of regional rail transport vehicles and services” aims to a significant improvement of energy efficiency and the enhancement of ecological, social and economical sustainability in the regional rail transport. The project will support parties issuing the invitation to commission with Europe-wide applicable, detailed specifications for an energy efficient procurement and purchase. This will be provided by the availability of guidelines for regional rail transport products and services

EUDDplus
Based on the preparatory work for the successful projects EUDD (European Driver's Desk) and MODTRAIN/EUCAB, the EUDDplus project makes the final step towards harmonisation of the functional organisation and design of the future European driver's cabins for locomotives, thus starting its practical testing phase.

FluSs
The matter of security gets more and more important for airports. The projects task is to develop an integrated, holistic security management concept for airport infrastructure.

freightvision
Until now sustainable mobility has not been reached as long as the consumption of fossil fuels and the environmental emissions are still growing. To cope with this problem the future of sustainable European transport system requires innovation at all levels including infrastructure, vehicles, services and user behaviour. freightVision will develop a vision and action plans (based on scenarios) to reach the innovations needed for a sustainable long-distance freight transport system.

FUTURAIL
The purpose of FUTURAIL is to contribute to European surface transport research program implementation and to the enhancement of the sector by fostering a better match between the human resources needs to make railways a more competitive and innovative sector and the offer of skills coming out of the different research based education and training institutions across Europe.

IMCOSEC
The European Union, via the 7th Framework Programme (FP7) has commissioned the partners of Project IMCOSEC to identify and characterise gaps in cargo transport security and benefits for logistics. The project, which has been started on 1st April 2010, will identify processes, procedures and technology to increase the resilience of the supply chain from port to hinterland.

InteGRail
"One language for Europe's railways". This is the vision of the research and development project InteGRail which is intended to drive the interoperability of the European rail systems forward. For this purpose, it is planned to create an information system which unifies all sub-systems already existing.

MATNET
The Berlin-Brandenburg Aerospace Alliance (BBAA), the Transport Technology Systems Network (FAV) of the Technology Foundation Berlin, the Technology Foundation Brandenburg, the Brandenburg Economic Development Board (ZAB), Berlin Partner and Berlin Airports (FBS) have joined forces to ensure the new BBI Airport in Schoenefeld generates widespread attention as a modern Airport in Europe.

Model Regions Electromobility
Several concepts of electromobility in the areas of Public Transport integration / tourism, integration of mobility and housing services and city logistics are to be realised and tested within the capital region using different types of electric vehicles. These activities are part of the "Model Regions Electromobility" programme set up by the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs. TSB-FAV, being also the central contact point, coordinates as Regional Project Management Office the activities within the model region in close cooperation with the Senate Department for Urban Development Berlin and the City of Potsdam. An overview about the eight model regions can be found on www.bmvbs.de

RAILENERGY
28 European partners - System integrators, railway undertakers, infrastructure manager, associations, institutes and consulting companies - collaborating in the project Railenergy (Innovative Integrated Energy Efficiency Solutions for Railway Rolling Stock, Rail Infrastructure and Train Operation) for a 6-percent reduction of the specific energy consumption in European railways.

SKILLRAIL
The SKILLRAIL project aims to contribute to the enhancement of the transport sector by fostering a better match between the human resources needs and the offer of skills to make railways a more competitive and innovative sector.
