InnoTrans 2008, International Trade Fair for Transport Technology, 23rd - 26th September, 2008

With a large number of reference projects and over 220 transport technology firms, Berlin is the main focus of Germany's transport engineering industry and an ideal venue for InnoTrans, an international platform for buyers and sellers of passenger and freight transport technology. InnoTrans has become established as an international industry showplace focusing on railway technology. A full range of rail vehicles are presented in static displays on the Messe Berlin tracks located outside the exhibition halls. Other key InnoTrans features include Railway Infrastructure, Interiors, Public Transport and Tunnel Construction.

Connecting Railways - InnoTrans 2008, 23rd - 26th September, 2008

The Connecting Railways event is organised by the Enterprise Europe Network, the gateway to competitiveness and innovation. The network gives access to all the information needed to develop a business and find the right business partners. Representatives from companies, universities and research institutes offering or requesting innovative solutions, investigating new collaborations and searching for adequate project partners will get a great opportunity to discuss their ideas face-to-face. COOPERS in Action! Demonstration kick off - IFA 2008, 29th August, 2008

Safety, comfort and user-friendliness are important factors of future integrated in vehicle safety systems. The first COOPERS equipped car with the most advanced in vehicle communication system for foresight driving will be presented at the IFA 2008 (world’s leading consumer electronics trade show) in Berlin.
At the showcase event for Infrastructure to Vehicle (I2V) data communication first results will be shown to the public. In addition, you will have the opportunity to discuss the next steps in the progress of road safety in Europe with leading industry experts and road authorities.

European Technology Days - Berlin Air Show 2008

The European Technology Days event organised by the IRC Innovation Relay Centres is designed as a partnering platform offering a unique opportunity to meet potential partners for new business and for R&D projects. Representatives of companies, universities and research institutes offering or requesting innovative solutions, investigating new collaborations and searching for adequate project partners will get a great opportunity to discuss their ideas face-to-face in the pre-arranged, bilateral meetings with the international experts of interest.


The registration and the submission of company profiles can be performed until 2nd of May 2008 under: www.irc-berlinairshow.de/2008. The participation fee of 50 € plus VAT (% 19) will be charged to each participating company.



Asia-Pacific Weeks 2007 - Urban Transport and Mobility

On 12th - 13th September 2007, the FAV organised the "Urban Transport and Mobility" conference, under the umbrella of the 6th Asia-Pacific Weeks 2007 in Berlin. 30 high ranking speakers from China, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Germany exchanged experiences and best practises about transport and mobility in Asian and German urban areas. The topics focussed by high level speakers from universities, industry/SME's, and consultants, aimed at current and future developments in the four areas sustainable transport and mobility, accessibility, telematics and aerospace. More than 80 participants contributed to comprehensive and in-depth discussions in a plenary session and four workshops during the two days. The conference encouraged the identification of future cooperation and projects between Asia and Europe, and enabled the contact building and deepening.

The Asia-Pacific Weeks (APW) are an initiative of the Mayor of Berlin and take place every two years. This regular event creates a platform for political, economical, cultural and scientific exchange with partner countries in the Asia-Pacific region and demonstrate Berlin's function as "Gateway to Asia". During their tenth anniversary, the APW 2007 are dedicated to the influences of the Asia-Pacific region on the western world, especially the change in metropolitan areas.
